Johnny Johnson, deputy fire marshal for the Bartlett Fire Department, has been honored with the Weddendorf Special Recognition Award for 2015.
The department issued a statement saying, “Commander Johnson is an employee that expects the best of himself as displayed in the manner that he carries out his duties.”
Johnson is a frequent volunteer as the Fire Department Liaison Officer for many city events such as the Fireworks Extravaganza and the Bartlett Festival. When serving in this capacity, he is responsible for coordinating activities between the Fire Department, other city departments and event organizers to assure the safety and protection of the public.
The department’s statement also noted, “He is respected by his supervisors and co-workers as someone who can be depended on to do his job and do the right thing.
“In his years of public service he has consistently exhibited the high standards of professionalism expected of Bartlett Fire Department personnel. We respectfully pledge Commander Johnson for this award and ask you to join us in showing your appreciation on a job well done.”
