american-legionA group of veterans in Arlington will hold an organizational meeting at 7 p.m. on Jan. 14 in hopes of establishing a permanent group. The American Legion will hold the meeting at Living Word Lutheran Church at 11974 Walker Street.

This is a second in a series of organizing efforts led by the Past Department Commander Lee Buchschacher.

“I have been very pleased and encouraged by the interest in forming the post,” Buchschacher said. “Now is the time to do the stubby pencil work. I need 15 new members willing to join in order to get a temporary charter. Once that happens we will double in size, as there are over 25 people in the 38002 zip code who are Legionnaires already just waiting for the Post to be established.”

Buchschacher continued, “Everyone who signs up will forever be a Charter Member of the Arlington American Legion Post.”

The meeting is open to the public; all veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Buchschacher at (901) 937-8018.
