The provisional Arlington American Legion Post will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 in Arlington. The meeting location will be Living Word Lutheran Church at 11974 Walker Street next to the public library off the Historic Depot Square in Arlington.
The featured speaker will be the 10th District Commander, Michael Hale, who is expected to talk about the next steps in organizing the post in Arlington.
Past Department Commander Lee Buchschacher said, “We are very close to reaching our initial recruiting goal. We only need five more members to join us and we’ll be organized.”
Buchschacher has led this effort, serving as Commander Hale’s Membership Chairman. The 10th District covers six counties in West Tennessee; however the largest concentration of veterans reside in Shelby County, he said.
The meeting is open to the public; all veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces are encouraged to attend.
