U.S. 64 crash kills 1, injures 3

bartlett express logoLAKELAND — A two-vehicle collision on U.S. 64 left one person dead and three injured on Thursday, Oct. 26, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol. It was at the intersection with Rockcreek Parkway.

Tylen D. Yancey, 21, was driving the first vehicle, a 2016 Ford Mustang, and was injured in the crash. His passenger, Mario Bell Jr. of Lakeland, 22, was killed. Both were wearing seatbelts.

Antonio Beard, 53, was driving the second vehicle, a four-door 2010 GMC Sierra and was uninjured. His passengers, a 16-year-old and 14-year-old whose identities have not been released, were injured. All three were wearing seatbelts.

At the time of the accident, Yancey’s vehicle was eastbound on U.S. 64, trying to turn left onto Rockcreek Parkway. Beard was westbound and hit the right side of Yancy’s vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest on the north shoulder of the road.
