Trustee decommissions 13 payment kiosks across Shelby County

Shelby County SealThe Shelby County Trustee’s Office is set to remove 13 payment kiosks at locations throughout the county. The kiosks, which were in service for more than a decade, will be decommissioned by end of May.

Taxpayers will still have multiple options to pay taxes, and there will be seasonal payment locations beginning Oct. 1.

“Our payment kiosks have served us well over the years, but as technology evolves we must remain in step with it,” said David C. Lenoir, Shelby County trustee. “Due to the maintenance costs associated with older software and the age of the kiosks, it was time to retire them.”

A mobile app solution has been introduced in place of the kiosks. PayitShelby allows taxpayers to pay safely and securely in the palm of their hand or online. The app is available on iTunes or Google Play.

Other options include mailing payments in or making a payment in person at the year-round and seasonal locations.

Removal locations include the trustee’s downtown office, Arlington Town Hall, Bartlett City Hall, Collierville Town Hall, Germantown City Hall, Lakeland City Hall, Memphis City Hall, Millington City Hall, County Clerk’s Office (Mullins Station), Central Library and Regions Bank locations (1190 E. Shelby Dr., 640 Germantown Pkwy., and 6231 Stage Road).
