Toss the razor, buy a button & celebrate city’s birthday!

Beards for BartlettJoin Bartlett residents in celebrating the city’s 150 years by growing a beard. Yes that’s right, a beard just like the men did 150 years ago.

Judging will be at the Bartlett Festival at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. Winners will be announced at 10:30 am on the stage. Trophies and prizes will be awarded in these categories: Best Overall Beard, Thickest Beard, Most Original Beard, Best Kept (neatest) Beard, Wildest/Ugliest Beard, Best Goatee, Best Chops/Sideburns, and Best Mustache.

To be a part of history, all you have to do is register at Bartlett City Hall. Cost is $5, and registered participants will receive a commemorative pin to wear.

It’s designed as just a fun activity people can do to raise awareness of the city’s historical celebrations this year, according to Bartlett Mayor Keith McDonald. For more information, call (901) 385-6400).

All funds raised will be donated to a good cause: The West Tennessee Veterans Home planned for Arlington.

This event is sponsored in part by the Immortal Beard Company.
