Teen Jordan Corter charged with attempted rape of friend’s mom

ARLINGTON – An Arlington mother says she fought off a sexual assault by one of her son’s teenage friends early Monday morning.

Her son had a sleepover with two friends Sunday night. She said one of them, Jordan Corter, 18, of Bartlett knocked on her locked bedroom door around 2:30 a.m. Reportedly, when she opened the door he pushed her onto the bed and put his hand into her pajama shorts.

She freed herself by kneeing him in the groin, grabbing a pistol and holding it in his face as she told him to leave, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office report. When she jerked away during the struggle, she also accidentally struck her own face, giving herself a black eye.

She filed a sheriff’s report the next day.

According to an SCSO spokesman, the youth appeared very upset and remorseful when he was arrested at his mother’s home.

The case remains under investigation.
