English teacher Chris Steele gets a dunking from the dead-on aim of Bartlett High School student Evan Bartles. She was one of several volunteers who braved the dunking booth at a “Go Jim Go” carnival held before Friday’s football game. The carnival raised $403, and that plus student donations took the total just over $1,000 for the charity led by Jim Jaggers, the News Channel 3 meteorologist who has ridden 333 miles across the Mid-South annually since 2006, raising money for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Donations since inception have topped $1 million, and the 2014 ride will be Sept. 24-Oct. 1. Potential sponsors or fundraising schools and businesses are invited to e-mail Antoinette Katoe, WREG special projects coordinator, at antoinette.katoe@wreg.com. For details on Go Jim Go, see the website. The Bartlett High dunking booth was sponsored by the Student Council, and the representatives were Matt Meyers and Heather Leslie. Photo by Scott Steele
