Sungate neighbors enjoy completed 3-year project

Editor’s note: Updated on 5/7/15 to clarify funding for the project.

A major three-year project has been completed for the Sungate subdivision in Bartlett, replacing 1,401 feet of fencing to outline the properties at a cost of $18,530. The work was entirely funded by the Sungate Homeowners Association.

The new fencing is western red cedar, installed by All Star Fences & Decks in Bartlett. The city of Bartlett assisted in the project by picking up discarded materials.

The subdivision has two entrances: One on Altruria Road and the other on St. Elmo Road. Sungate consists of 186 residential properties.

This project began about the time the city began working on bike lane and handicap ramp projects to keep neighborhoods safer.

The Sungate Home-owners Association (SHOA) also has decided to make a $186 donation to the Bartlett City Beautification Commis-sion (BCBC) to help beautify Bartlett in future projects.

Jerry Stallings, SHOA treasurer, hopes that the new attractive fencing will inspire others to find similar projects that neighbors will support.

“We would like to challenge the surrounding HOAs to make similar commitments to our great city,” he said.
