$186 donated to Bartlett City Beautiful Commission
The Sungate Homeowners Association in Bartlett is leading the way with a civic-minded donation and is encouraging other homeowners associations to join in.
The SHOA has donated $186 to the Bartlett City Beautiful Commission to be used as needed.
The donation isn’t burdensome to the association’s members, as it amounts to just $1 per neighborhood resident.
The SHOA’s goal is to encourage other Bartlett homeowners associations to support their city as well, according to Bill Green, SHOA president for three years.
He has focused on projects that will upgrade the community’s four and one-half acres of common grounds, building residents’ local pride.
Bartlett Alderman Emily Elliot accepted the donation earlier this month on behalf of the BCCB, a nonprofit organization that promotes beautification throughout the City of Bartlett.
BCCB projects include the flower-filled planters positioned along the sidewalks on Stage Road in front of the Bartlett Library, the Bartlett Station Municipal Center and the Mayor’s Office.
The BCCB is also responsible for the selection of the Yard of the Month and conducts the annual plant sale at 6745 Stage Road adjacent to the Sheridan’s Frozen Custard.
