The Third Annual Stomp Out Suicide Community 5K Walk/Run last weekend at Shelby Farms Park drew an estimated 100 attendees, including these smiling faces. Most people who participated were from Bartlett, but some came from as far away as Tiptonville. The event is designed to spread awareness and suicide prevention. Bartlett students organize the event. They are in a club formerly known as the NJHS-JrBeta, but they are now called The Upstanders club at Bartlett Ninth Grade Academy. Find more information and more photos on their Facebook page; search for “soscommunitywalk.” Organizers said, “We hope to provide a safe place for those who have contemplated suicide and those who have lost loved ones to connect and know that they are not alone.”
