St. Benedict at Auburndale High School graduated 213 seniors in the Class of 2016. Sixty-five students received a total of 110 awards, and nine were named as Commercial Appeal Academic All-Stars.
These seniors received a total of 575 scholarships from 72 colleges and universities, with 79 percent of the class (168) receiving scholarships. Thirteen members of the class signed to play college sports. The total dollar amount of scholarships awarded was more than $14 million.
The Class of 2016’s valedictorian is Vanessa Tejada of Cordova, and the salutatorian is Emma Norman of Bartlett.
