Sexual assault warrants for one Memphis man led Shelby County deputies to his large illegal drug cache last week and put both him and his wife behind bars. More charges were added on Monday.
Darrell Randolph, 43, and Monique Polk, 32, were arrested on March 5 in a home on the 4800 block of Coral Creek, Memphis. He was wanted for multiple sexual assaults and assault-related offenses.
When the Fugitive Apprehension Team found him, officers also discovered and seized 27 grams of marijuana and $13,000. They also seized more than $5,400 from a bank account.
His wife, Monique Polk, 32, was also arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent.
On March 7, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) detectives also searched a location on the 7100 block of Market Square, where some of the sexual assaults allegedly occurred. They found and seized 654.8 grams of crack cocaine, 823.8 grams of powder cocaine, 31.46 grams of heroin, 105.7 grams of marijuana, a pistol and two vehicles.
Randolph admitted owning the drugs and the gun. On March 10 he received numerous felony drug and weapons charges.
He is currently being held on two separate $1 million bonds — one for the sexual assaults and the other for the drugs.
