SCSO makes arrest in embezzlement case

A store manager at the Kroger store located in Arlington advised that a female employee had stolen $1400 dollars in cash from her assigned cash register on November 4th and 5th 2012.

During the investigation, the loss prevention manager advised the store manager about a shortage of $900 and $500 dollars on separate days from the register where the employee had been working. Surveillance video showed the suspect on two occasions take money which was supposed to be turned in to a money drop and place it in her pocket.

When she was questioned by detectives, Shanika Hicks, 21, admitted taking the money.

She was charged with Embezzlement.
