The physicians on Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett’s medical staff spend countless hours caring for patients at the hospital. Saint Francis-Bartlett’s employees recently honored those physicians with their annual Doctors’ Day celebration.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to recognize individual physicians, as the Physician of the Year and Physician Leadership awards were presented.
Muhammad Janjua, M.D., was named the Physician of the Year. Janjua has been a cardiologist on the medical staff at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett since 2013.
He was an integral part of the team that launched the hospital’s STEMI program, which focuses on treating the most serious type of heart attack.
“It’s a great honor to be recognized,” Janjua said. “I feel like being a cardiologist is the best job in the world. It’s a huge responsibility to be trusted with a person’s health. Having a positive impact on that person’s life is an amazing feeling.”
Mahmood Ali, M.D., was selected by his peers to receive the Physician Leadership Award. Ali joined the Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett medical staff in 2004, and he currently serves as president of the medical staff.
“I am proud to be associated with a group of physicians, staff, and administrators that are committed to following best practices with the goal of always providing the patients at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett with excellent care,” Ali said. “The pursuit of excellence drives us all.”
Chris Locke, Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett CEO, said, “I am thankful for Dr. Ali, Dr. Janjua, and our entire medical staff. We appreciate and admire the dedication of our physicians. Doctor’s Day is a time for us to thank them for what they do each and every day.”
