Saint Francis-Bartlett earns ‘A’ for safety

logos-st-francis-bartlett-0Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett has been honored with an “A” Hospital Safety Score by The Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital industry watchdog. The facility is one of just four hospitals in the Memphis area to receive an “A” grade.

The Hospital Safety Score was calculated under the guidance of the nation’s leading experts on patient safety and is administered by The Leapfrog Group. The Hospital Safety Score is designed to provide consumers with information they need when making decisions about a hospital stay.

“This recognition is a result of our colleagues continually raising the bar on the quality of the care we deliver to the Bartlett community,” said Kristina Cherry, chief nursing officer of Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett. “Our employees and physicians know that every patient should be treated as if they were a part of their own family, and our “A” rating reflects this commitment.”

The Hospital Safety Score is calculated under the guidance of The Leapfrog Group’s nine-member Blue Ribbon Expert Panel. The panel uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to produce a single score representing a hospital’s overall capacity to keep patients safe from preventable harm. More than 2,500 hospitals have been assigned scores, with less than a third receiving an “A” grade.
