Puppy love is in the air, and there will be a huge matchmaking event at the Shops of Saddle Creek on June 7.
“Paws for a Cause,” the region’s biggest pet adoption campaign, will fill the sidewalks of Saddle Creek in Germantown with yelps of joy that Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
This event will feature multiple rescue groups with dogs of all shapes, ages, and sizes, as well as plenty of lovable pets ready for adoption.
Pet adoption groups will include Real Good Dog Rescue, Collierville Animal Services, Germantown Animal Shelter, Dogs 2nd Chance, and Midsouth Greyhound Adoption.
Other canine-centric agencies participating include Midsouth Therapy Dogs, Tennessee Safety Spotters, Spay Memphis and the Shelby County Obedience Club.
If you already have a furry love of your own, bring him or her along! There will be lots of activities and food for pups and their peeps. You can even win your best pal a prize by playing pet-themed games. Visit several dog portrait artists, a dozen dog services and product vendors such as Hollywood Feed and Memphis Veterinary Specialists with interactive exhibits.
Attendees can enjoy tasty treats from food trucks as they learn about holistic pet health, agility and service dogs, pet fashions and jewelry, pet rescue groups and pet artists. An added bonus is the fact that many of the shops at Saddle Creek will allow dogs indoors.
Pet owners can also treat their furry friends to a celebrity dog wash for $10 to benefit the participating rescue groups. Currently, the participating celebrities include Melissa Moon (WREG), Kristin Tallent (Fox13), Ronda Cloud (The Library Channel), Ron Childers (WMC), Kym Clark (WMC),and Shotzie the Vampire Cat (WKNO-TV).
