Arlington relay raises $60K to fight cancer

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event in Arlington on May 3 raised $60,525 to help fight cancer.

Seventeen teams, totaling 241 participants, dedicated the evening to honoring cancer survivors, remembering those who have passed away, and raising funds and awareness to defeat the disease.

Activities included an opening ceremony at 6 p.m., a survivors’ lap, a caregivers’ lap, the Fight Back Ceremony, the candlelit Luminaria Ceremony at 9 p.m., and a closing ceremony.
