Bartlett High School senior softball player Savannah Shaw has been selected as a scholar-athlete by the Memphis Redbirds. As a scholar-athlete, Savannah will be throwing out the first pitch and a video feature will be played before and during the game on May 24. Shaw has been a member of the varsity softball team since her freshman year at Bartlett High. She earned spots on the 1st Team All-District and All Tournament Team twice. She is also a member of the National Honors Society, the Beta Club and the Honors Academy. After high school, she plans to continue her education and athletic career at Hendrix College, where she intends to be a pre-med/physics major in hopes of one day becoming a pediatric surgeon. The Memphis Redbirds have will have group tickets available for the May 24 game so faculty, teammates and classmates can attend the game to support her.
