A native of Florence, S.C., Keating Lowery has been a Memphis resident since 2009 and is currently an associate with Lawrence & Russell, PLC. Her practice is devoted to litigating the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) matters on behalf of employers, plan fiduciaries, and third-party administrators throughout the United States. Prior to joining Lawrence & Russell, Lowery was an associate at Pounders Coleman, where she practiced family law, representing individuals in all areas of domestic litigation.
Lowery graduated with honors from Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., where she obtained her bachelor of arts degree in English (2002). She received the Frank F. Roberts Scholarship and was named a South Carolina Palmetto fellow. Prior to graduation, she attended the Institute for the International Education of Students in London, UK (2000).
After undergraduate school, she worked in Atlanta, Ga., before attending law school at Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Miss., where she obtained her juris doctor in 2008. She currently sits on the Mississippi College Law Alumni Association Board. While in law school, Lowery was active in the student chapter of the Association for Women Attorneys (AWA) and served as president of the organization. She also received the 2008 Mississippi Women Lawyer’s Scholarship Award and was nominated for the National Women Lawyers Student Award the same year. Prior to law school graduation, she participated in the South Texas College of Law Summer Program in Prague, Czech Republic (2007).
Lowery joined the AWA Memphis chapter in 2009. Before her current role as incoming president for 2015, she co-chaired the AWA annual banquet and silent auction for three years (2013, 2014 and 2015) and also served on the AWA golf tournament committee. She may have made AWA history in being the first to co-chair the banquet while simultaneously handling presidential duties. Her presidency in the student society of AWA served to be a prelude for professional leadership in the same organization.

In addition to her AWA responsibilities, Lowery is a member of the Memphis Bar Association. She also enjoys volunteering with the Church Health Center, the American Cancer Society and the Junior League of Memphis, where she is a member of the Fund Development Council.
Keating and her husband, Patrick, reside in East Memphis and are members of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
