Lisa and Barry Payne were a long way from their Arlington home when she hooked a powerful blue marlin.
The couple were on a 35th anniversary trip to Hawaii when they decided to “go big or go home” and try fishing in deep waters for a memorable catch to display at home.
Not even an hour into their trip, the long rigger came slamming down and line started screaming off the reel. Lisa, strapped into the chair, battled for half an hour to reel in the huge fish.
Her catch was estimated around 650 pounds.
