‘Paws for a Cause’ celebrates pets, helps rescue groups

N1305P39020CThe Shops of Saddle Creek in Germantown are hosting a special event for pet lovers in the MidSouth this weekend.

Paws for a Cause this Saturday, June 6, will feature a massive pet adoption by area rescue agencies.

Saddle Creek’s day of puppy pandemonium, sponsored by Memphis Veterinary Specialists, will run from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Saddle Creek, NORTH (Anthropologie, Apple Store, Chico’s), on West Farmington between Poplar Avenue and Germantown Road.

People who already have beloved dogs are invited to bring them, as there will be plenty of activities for you to share.

Stock-photo-boy-puppyAttractions include games, prizes, educational displays and demonstrations and even a Celebrity Pet Wash. Anyone’s pup can enjoy a bath in the hands of local media celebrities at the event. These spa services are available for a $10 donation, with all the proceeds to be split among participating rescue organizations. Hollywood Feed will award a free 5oz sample of Nootie dog shampoo to anyone who gets their dog washed at the Celebrity Dog Wash.

The artists’ market will give visitors a chance to peruse the work of pet portrait artists and photographers. There also will be handmade craft items for the favorite pet in your life.
Visitors and their pets will find plenty of treats on hand, as well as food trucks for their peeps.
Saddle Creek Merchants who allow (leashed) dogs in their stores will have bowls of water outside their doors.
