WHITLEYVILLE, Tenn. — Dale Walker, president of The Tennessee Pastors Network, invited multiple state legislators to this past weekend’s Religious Freedom Sunday at the McCormick Ridge Holiness Church in Whitleyville.
Walker is an outspoken advocate for pastor engagement in policy matters that relate to traditional Christian values.
“Christianity and Christian values have been under attack in America since its founding,” he said. “On this 240th anniversary of our independence, it is critically important to say to ourselves and to those who oppose the word of God that this nation’s continued existence is based solely upon our willingness to stand for the timeless values instituted for man at creation and used by our founders as the energizing principle of this republic.”
He continued, “With God-ordained marriage, the confusion of sexual identity, and other directives from Washington, D.C., pastors across Tennessee are waking up to the threat against our religious freedom. Christian persecution is not coming to America … it is already here!
“Who better to be in attendance with us than those key legislators who are tasked with standing for Tennessee values against the moral decay being forced on us from Washington, D.C.? These individuals have earned the respect of their voters and their peers for being steadfast in their commitment to Tennessee values. We are honored to have them with us.
“The Tennessee Pastor’s Network encourages church leaders all over Tennessee to join our efforts to lead their flocks in understanding the moral underpinnings of our republic and taking direct action to get the message out on an ongoing basis. Time is short!”
