Bartlett rose to the top of its district again Tuesday night after beating Bolton 8-6 in the District 14-AAA tournament finals.
Despite having home field advantage, No. 1 seeded Arlington fell to Bolton 7-5 in Tuesday’s early elimination game, pairing the Panthers with the Wildcats.
Despite having beaten Bolton 5-1 less than a week ago to open the tournament, Bartlett’s championship win was all but certain as the Wildcats led 3-1 in the opening inning. However, No. 2 seed Bartlett (31-7) went on to score the next seven runs before Bolton (24-13) rallied for three in the final inning.
Bartlett senior pitcher Bryan Cruse got his sixth win of the season in a championship game that lasted more than two hours.
