
Mrs. Tennessee International, Deanna Loveland, was at Youth Villages in Bartlett on Tuesday to provide a girls’ makeover and empowerment event.
She was at the facility from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Loveland is originally from the eastern shore of Maryland and now resides in Nashville.
She was most recently crowned Mrs. Tennessee International 2016 and helps women and girls struggling with severe life traumas through her project, “Beauty Unveiled.”
Her interests include playing the harp and the piano, and she is also a singer/songwriter. She studied piano at the age of 5 and began learning the harp when she was 11.
While she didn’t pursue a music degree, she took courses at the International Academy of Music in Indiana and kept a busy schedule of 130 performances each year at the age of 16.
She began songwriting at an early age and in 2005, she was 1st runner-up out of 12,000 entries in USA Weekend Magazine’s national songwriting competition judged by Simon Cowell and Fantasia Barrino.
After moving to Nashville in 2008, she signed with a talent agency and appeared in music videos and commercials as a model/actress.
She has appeared in commercials for Toyota and Target; music videos for artists including Ruben Studdard, Brooks & Dunn and Keith Urban; and film roles including, “A Pure Country Gift II” and “Country Strong.”
Deanna’s philanthropy work over the years has involved numerous fundraising efforts, mission trips and volunteer work, for which she received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award signed by George W. Bush during his presidency.
She is married and has two boys under the age of three.
