The formerly iconic Siesta Motel on U.S. 70 in Bartlett is no more. Last week, Jackson Payne of Payne Grading Inc. accepted the task of demolishing the 70-year-old building after years of vacancy. The 11-room facility closed in 2009, and a cafe on the 2.3-acre grounds was taken down in 2014. The owner is Helen Folis. The property will retain its commercial zoning status.
