A Bartlett police officer has been suspended following domestic assault charge last month. 
Quentin Crowley, 37, will be off the force for 24 days as part of his punishment for a variety of internal charges, said Chief Gary Rikard.
“He will probably admit that he’s made some mistakes,” said Rikard. “He’s got some problems to work out, but we hope he gets things on track and can become a productive member of the department again.”
In addition to the suspension, Crowley will be on probation for six months. He’ll be required to have a monthly evaluation with his supervisor during that period and cannot get into any more trouble, said Rikard. Also, Crowley was taken off the department’s SWAT team and Honor Guard.
Mayor Keith McDonald signed off on the punishment July 23 following a disciplinary board hearing the week before. The board found Crowley guilty on all charges, which included poor moral conduct, gross misconduct and physical assault on another person, as well as code of ethics and code of honor violations.
Crowley no longer faces charges in the domestic assault case. They had stemmed from a June 16 argument with his wife, Amanda, who said the 12-year veteran of the Bartlett police force pushed her to the ground following a night of drinking. That case was dismissed on July 10.
