MPD on lookout for missing Cordova teen

A Cordova family is anxiously awaiting word that their daughter is safe. The 15-year-old Jennifer Voyles was upset and left after being disciplined . She was reported as an endangered runaway child at 6:17 a.m. Monday, June 20.

She has brown hair and brown eyes and is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 190 lbs. No description is available about what clothing she was wearing when she left.

Her mother, Ilda Baez, told the responding Memphis Police Department officers that Voyles has run away three times in the past. This time, her daughter was upset when Baez confiscated her phone around midnight for texting and sending photos. She realized that Voyles was missing around 5 a.m.

Voyles left the home via a front window, leaving a note behind for her parents. Her home is on the 2300 block of Oak Springs Drive, Cordova.

Several MPD units searched the home’s area but could not find Voyles. MPD has issued a City Watch to alert law enforcement and local residents to be on the lookout for the missing child.

Flyers circulating about the missing teen say that she has been diagnosed with a mental condition, suffers from depression and is currently on medication. Facebook posts note that she left home without a phone, money or other belongings.
