MIFA’s ‘Feed the Soul’ to return for 8th year

MIFA logoMEMPHIS, Tenn. — Feed the Soul, a public event initiated in 2008 by MIFA (Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association), is slated to return by popular demand Oct. 8.

The event, presented by SunTrust, will be 6-10 p.m. As a celebration of the nonprofit organization’s 47 years of uniting the community through service, it will be held at The Warehouse at 36 East G.E. Patterson — inside the eclectic South Main district venue and on its surrounding exterior patio and grounds.

Feed the Soul is expected to draw a sell-out crowd of 1,000 for a casual evening of food, friends and music. Live entertainment will include singer Tameka “Big Baby” Goodman, The Soul Therapy Band and DJ Stan “The Bellringer” Bell of radio station V101 playing favorite tunes.

Other activities include rum and bourbon tastings in the MIFA Cave, oxygen bars with multiple flavors and a raffle featuring prizes from a variety of area merchants.

The event’s Rhythm & Blues Sponsor is AutoZone. ServiceMaster is the Jump & Jive Sponsor, and Brown Missionary Baptist Church serves as the Hallelujah Sponsor.
