Methodist North CEO earns national award

Modern Healthcare magazine recently named Methodist North CEO Gyasi Chisley as a winner of the 2014 Up & Comers award. The recognition honors young stars in the healthcare management field.

“We are very excited to have an Up & Comers award winner in the Methodist System,” said Michael Ugwueke, Methodist Healthcare President and COO. “Gyasi is a very accomplished healthcare leader and is most deserving of this award.”

Before joining Methodist North, he was the president and site administrator at Mercy Health, Anderson Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. In that role he was responsible for all business, financial, human resources, nursing and operations transactions. Additionally, he was the corporate service line executive for orthopedics, facilities and food and dietary.

Chisley earned dual bachelor’s degrees in psychology and biology from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga., and a master’s degree in health services/business administration from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. He now resides in Memphis.

Winners are 40 years of age or younger and have made significant contributions in healthcare administration, management or policy. All award winners were recognized in the Monday, Oct. 13, issue of Modern Healthcare magazine.
