Bartlett home sales have jumped in the past year as opposed to other nearby suburban areas.
The median sales price of a Bartlett home during the month of May has increased 8 percent since last year, according to the Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR).
Thirty new homes have been sold this year in the Bartlett area, an 8.7 percent increase.
Bartlett’s median sales price for a home this year is $170,000, the same as its median price for the month of May.
Compared to its cumulative median price from last year, Bartlett’s homes have seen nearly a 5 percent increase in price from $162,000 to $170,000.
Shelby County saw a 1.2 percent uptick in home sales from the previous year.
In May, home sales jumped 8.2 percent from last year’s numbers.
Although both Germantown and Collierville boast some of the highest median sales prices, their May total sales and year-to-date total sales both dropped.
This month, both Germantown and Collierville dropped 5.8-percent when compared with the 2014 numbers, while their YTD sales dropped 2.8 percent and 1.9 percent respectively.
Those two communities form an anomaly, though, one with which Bartlett does not conform, according to MAAR President Thomas Murphree.
“May was strong,” said Murphree. “And year-to-date, we’re up across the board.”
He continued, “The market’s very active right now.”
