
Lifeblood and the Bartlett, Arlington and Lakeland Donor Council recognized its 2014 volunteers at a holiday reception on Dec. 11. Awards were presented by Lifeblood Donor Council chairwoman Jane Garrett, Lifeblood CEO Susan Berry-Buckley and Bartlett mayor Keith McDonald.
Tommy McCall, associate pastor at Christ Church, was named Volunteer of the Year for organizing four blood drives in 2014. The award for Best Faith-Based group of 2014 went to Sycamore View Church of Christ. Employer Varsity Spirit Brands won Group Achievement for 2014, and Fullview Baptist Church won the Newcomer of the Year award.
Lifeblood also awarded 14 groups with 100 Club plaques for donating 100 or more units of blood per year for five or more years. Honorees included Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett, Bartlett Woods Church of Christ, Brother International, Christ Church, City of Bartlett, Faith Baptist Church, MLGW, New Hope Christian Church, St. Ann Catholic Church and Sycamore View Church of Christ.
Bartlett, Arlington and Bolton high schools were recognized for each donating more than 100 units of blood in 2014 through Lifeblood’s Giving Together program. Each school was awarded $2,000 from Saint Francis Hospital- Bartlett.
