Letter to the Editor: BPD chief thanks Bartlett citizens for support

Dear Bartlett Community,

Riker-and-badgeThe past few months have been a roller coaster ride for the law enforcement family. We have experienced extreme lows with the intentional deaths of our brothers and sisters nationwide, but we have also experienced warmth and love from our community. You have demonstrated your support through prayer vigils, thank you cards, notes of encouragement, food delivered to the station, anonymous meals purchased for officers on duty, and the list goes on. You have lifted our spirits tremendously and we are grateful.

Please know that your support does not go unnoticed by the men and women of the Bartlett Police Department and this support only encourages us to work harder at making our community even safer. We know that we are not alone in our fight against crime and do not take this support for granted. We will continue to train and improve to provide you and your family the safety you deserve.

Sincerely,

Gary Rikard, Chief of Police, Bartlett Police Department
