SHELBY COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING
CLIENT ENROLLMENT FOR REHABILITATION SERVICES

The Shelby County Department of Housing officially announces that it is accepting applications from eligible applicants for rehabilitation services during Shelby County’s 2016 Fiscal Year that runs from July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016. Assistance under Shelby County’s Rehabilitation Programs is available to individuals who meet federal income guidelines, are owner-occupants, and live within unincorporated Shelby County and all local municipalities outside the City of Memphis. All assistance is subject to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s approval of the Shelby County Annual Action Plan for the 2015 HUD Program Year.

To be eligible for rehabilitation services, households must be considered low-to-moderate income. This means that a household can apply for assistance if annual income by household size is less than:

1 person $32,500
2 person $37,150
3 person $41,800
4 person $46,400
5 person $50,150
6 person $53,580
7 person $57,550
8 person $61,250

Regular office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Assistance under these programs is provided on a first-come first-served basis and is based on the submission of a fully completed application form. Shelby County especially encourages applications from income eligible handicapped and elderly individuals located in the service area whose homes are in need of rehabilitation services that will enable them to remain in their homes. Shelby County is committed to providing the highest achievable quality of services to all residents of Shelby County without prejudice, regardless of their race, color, religion, gender, familial status, or national origin.

SHELBY COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING
CONTRACTOR CERTIFICATION FOR GRANT FUNDED ACTIVITIES AND SECTION 3 CONTRACTORS MEETING

Shelby County, through the Shelby County Department of Housing, provides a variety of community development and rehabilitation services for low-to-moderate income communities, individuals, and homeowners throughout Shelby County. These services are carried out under the auspices of federally funded programs such as CDBG and other grant programs.

Currently, the Department of Housing is accepting applications from contractors for program certification. This will enable contractors to participate in bidding opportunities for grant programs operated by the Department of Housing for the Fiscal Year 2016 which runs from July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016.

All contractors interested in participating in both contracting opportunities with Shelby County and the Department of Housing’s Community Development and Housing programs, who are currently a Section 3 contractor, or who would like to find out more about Section 3 contracting opportunities should contact:

Interested firms and individuals are strongly encouraged to attend a contractor and Section 3 meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Friday July 24, 2015 in Room W-278 of the Peggy Edmiston Administration Building, 1075 Mullins Station Road, Memphis, Tennessee 38134 or contact the Department of Housing either in person or by phone Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. If you plan to attend the meeting and have special needs please contact the Department of Housing no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday July 17, 2015 and we will work to insure your accommodations.
