The Lakeland Senior Center was the epicenter of a delicious event on Feb. 27. Conpetitive cooks vied for honors in the center’s Pie Bake-Off. At left, first-place winner was Linda Walls, with her Berry Berry Pie, winning $40. At right, Betty Ratliff earned second-place honors and another $40 with her German Chocolate Cream Pie. With the cooks is Mark Louderback, the event sponsor and a financial advisor with Edward Jones. Not shown are third- and fourth-place winners, Joyce Cole, who brought her Chocolate Chess Pie and won $20, and Trudy Scholtz, who competed with a Sour Cream Raisin Pie and won $20 as well. For the event, Louderback brought Papa John’s pizza and salad for all attendees.
