Lady Panthers lose home opener

The Bartlett Lady Panthers fell to the FCA Nighthawks 57-52 Monday night at home in their first game of the season.

The Nighthawks jumped on Bartlett early, taking a 14-12 lead into the second quarter.

However, the Lady Panthers answered with 15 points in the second to take a 27-25 lead into halftime. Both teams started the second half strong, scoring a combined 29 points.

Clinging to a 41-40 lead at the end of the third quarter, Bartlett was unable to keep up with FCA in the fourth.

The Nighthawks used a 17-11 run to end the game and take the victory. Bartlett’s Shondria Scruggs led the Panthers with 15 points.

The Lady Panthers will play at Houston this Friday night at 6 p.m.
