BRIGHTON — The Bartlett Lady Panthers are heading to Sectionals.
The District 14-3A runner ups were able to beat the District 13-3A champions Brighton Lady Cardinals 5-1 Tuesday in Brighton to advance to this Thursday’s Region 7-3A Tournament championship game.
The victory for Bartlett also guaranteed a spot in this weekend’s Sub-State round.
The Lady Panthers jumped out 2-0 lead over Brighton in the Region Semifinal contest behind two goals from Kayla Doyle.
The advantage grew to 4-0 in the second half with goals from Carly Fallin and Grace White. The Lady Cardinals got on the scoreboard with 14 minutes remaining in the game with a goal from Tessa Hendrickson.
Four minutes later the Lady Panthers got their final goal form Lexie Kavoian. Brighton ended the 2014 season with a 12-3-1 record and District 13-3A regular-season and tournament titles.
