The University of Tennessee at Martin is sponsoring a series of retirement planning workshops around Shelby County in June for individuals and families interested in learning about the six elements of estate planning.
The in-depth, six-hour courses will be offered at these two locations:
- Arlington — 6-9 p.m. on Mondays, June 16 and 23, at the Bellevue Arlington Church Office, 11695 Hwy. 70, Suite 104.
- Bartlett — 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays, June 17 and 24, at the Bartlett Performing Arts & Conference Center, 3663 Appling Rd.
Registration is $59 for two people and covers instructional materials, including a 134-page textbook.
Topics will include creating your retirement; assessing retirement costs, evaluating income sources, investing for the future, protecting your health and wealth, receiving funds from your retirement plans and managing your estate distribution.
No specific products or investments will be discussed in these educational courses. Stacy Barrom will lead the Arlington class, and Patrick McDowell will lead the Bartlett class. Both are investment advisors with the regional wealth management firm of Radian Partners, LLC.
The workshops are offered through the UT Martin Office of Extended Campus and Online Studies.
To sign up for either course, contact UT Martin at (731) 881-7082 or register online. Seating is limited.
