Juanita (Meredith) Powers Dean, affectionately known as “Granny,” age 88 and a resident of Bartlett, Tenn., died on Friday, June 9, 2017, at home surrounded by her family who loved her. She was born in Paris, Tenn., to Robert and Delsey Powers and was the youngest of 11 children. She retired as a civilian office supply manager from Millington Naval Base. But the role in life that she cherished most was that of mother and grandmother.
She is survived by daughter Debra Ballard, granddaughter Shelley Gray (John), two great grandsons Cole and Quinn Sexton, and her sister Faye Johnson, who resides in Chicago, Ill. Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 13, at Olive Branch Cemetery in Paris, Tenn., at 11:30 a.m.
