Woodland Presbyterian School recently enjoyed a visit from World War II veteran Eddie Spencer as part of the eighth-grade study of U.S. history and also in celebration of upcoming Veterans’ Day. Spencer served as part of an anti-aircraft unit that was stationed in Italy during WWII. He fought in the battle at Monte Cassino, which marked one of the longest and bloodiest engagements of the Italian campaign. Woodland also will hots its Veterans’ Day chapel program at 8 a.m. on Nov. 11.
