Job fair slated for eager applicants in Memphis
Job hunters, take a chance on yourself and come to a special event today, Oct. 13, in Memphis. A career fair will operate 5-8 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at 5069 Sanderline Ave. Attendees are advised to bring 10-15 resumes and dress “business professional.” Attendance and parking are both free.
Baptist Children’s Home to host its 13th Annual Fall Festival
The Bartlett campus of the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes Inc. (TBCH) will hold its 13th Annual Fall Festival 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. It will be on the campus at 6896 U.S. 70 (at the corner of U.S. 70 and Stage Road) in Bartlett. This family event is free and open to the public. The event benefits the Bartlett and Millington campuses of TBCH.
A car and motorcycle show will be included. Registration for it will begin at 8 a.m. with judging at noon, followed by the awarding of trophies. For more information about the show, contact James Hicks at (901) 601-0319.
Other activities include face painting, moon bounces, visits from local characters and team mascots and a fun-foto booth. Campus tours and free breakfast and lunch will also be available.

Shoppers, beware: beleaguered Blue Bell has another recall
Blue Bell Creameries issued another recall on Monday, this time for all of its cookie-dough-containing ice cream provided by an Iowa-based supplier.
The announcement comes after Aspen Hills found potential listeria bacteria contamination.
Affected Blue Bell flavors were made between Feb. 2 and Sept. 7 and include half-gallons and pints of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Cookie Two Step, as well as three-gallons of Blue Monster, Chocolate Chip Cookie and Krazy Kookie Dough. They were in multiple states, including Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas.
