Bartlett High School unveils new Machine Tool Technology Lab
Hat’s off to Bartlett High School for its new technology lab, featuring about $215,000 of machinery designed to train students in medical device technology to prime them for quality jobs. It will also aid local industry by providing a pipeline of well-trained workers straight out of high school.
The lab debuted Monday and showcased capabilities to educate as many as 150 students with about a dozen pieces of equipment.
Plans are to offer night classes for adults via the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at some point. TCAT, the school and the medical device industry collaborated to create this opportunity for Bartlett students.

Come to the LAMP this weekend for season’s last concert
The season closer for live music at the Lakeland Amphitheater (The LAMP) this fall will be this Saturday, 7-10 p.m., featuring Seeing Red. The local pop/pop rock band is the main attraction, but guests can also bring their blankets, folding chairs and coolers to enjoy the picturesque 65-acre park overlooking a five-acre lake. There’s also a play area for children, as well as food trucks from Carifavor and cool treats from Kona Ice. The LAMP is in International Harvester Managerial Park at 4523 Canada Road, Lakeland.
Be safe: Drug Take- Back Day to operate Oct. 22 in Bartlett
The Bartlett Police Department is hosting an event where citizens can safely dispose of prescription drugs. It will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. this Saturday at Kroger, 7615 U.S. 70, as part of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
