May 31 service to honor 17 Civil War vets
The Robert E. Lee Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans in Germantown, will hold a public memorial service in Bartlett at 10 a.m. this Saturday. The event will honor 17 unknown Confederate soldiers buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, located at 4761 Brunswick Road in Bartlett.

Flag football benefit game kicks off June 6
The Bartlett Police Association is bringing its best game to the field for a flag football fundraiser on June 6. The event will help to fund the association’s “Shop with a Cop” program, youth athletics, scholarships and more.
Come watch the officers square off against a team of former Tennessee Titans at 7 p.m. June 6 at Bartlett High School. Local businesses and residents are being contacted for ticket sales and sponsorships.
AAA warns teen drivers of deadly driving season
Teen drivers, take care: Memorial Day marked the start for the 100 deadliest days on the road for teens, according to AAA.
An average of 261 youths die during each summer month in traffic crashes, a 26 percent increase over the rest of the year. Fatal crashes for ages 16-19 increase five-fold when two or more teen passengers are in the vehicle.
