Pit bull rescue group plans May 22 event

Hearts-of-Gold-Pit-Rescue-Logo+NoBG500The Hearts of Gold Pit Rescue will host an adoption event for pit bulls 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. May 22 at Bumpus Harley-Davidson, Collierville. Enjoy the pooches, the free face painting, the silent auction, and snacks.

All donations appreciated. Bumpus Harley Davidson is at 325 S Byhalia Rd, Collierville.

BACC offers education, hosts ribbon cuttings

The Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce has a full list of activities:

  • Today, May 19: Are you using your BACC electronic benefits? If not, attend this seminar to learn more. It’s 9-10 a.m. at the BACC Office, 2969 Elmore Park Road.
  • Friday, May 20: Join in for a ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m. May 20 to honor Expanded Educational Services Inc., 6050 Summer Ave.
  • Wednesday, May 25: Join another ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. at the Lincoln At Wolfchase Apartment Homes , 2460 Vintage Dr.
  • Thursday, May 26: Stop by the Charlee James Boutique, 3108 N. Germantown Parkway, at 11:30 a.m. for another ribbon cutting.

2 tourneys set for golfing fans

Just a reminder for all you golfers: There are two local tourneys this Friday.

In Bartlett, it’s the Sesquicentennial Golf Tournament benefitting West TN Veterans Home at Quail Ridge Golf Course, 4055 Altruria Road, Bartlett.

In Lakeland, it’s the Lakeland Chamber Classic at Stonebridge Golf Club, 3049 Davies Plantation Road.

Lakeland readies shovels to break ground for LMPS

Next Thursday will be a landmark day for Lakeland. The school district will break ground at 11 a.m. May 26 for construction on Lakeland Middle Preparatory Academy. The event will be on Canada Road near U.S. 70.
