State says muni school districts are now ‘official’
Good news for the new Bartlett, Arlington and Lakeland municipal school districts: They’re now official.
The state notified the Mid-South’s new municipal school districts Friday that their Local Education Agency (LEA) operation applications had been approved. Although a formality, the approval is an essential step in progressing toward opening day for the districts.

Bartlett starts resurfacing on Stage Road
Plan your route around construction on part of Stage Road in Bartlett, starting this Sunday. Resurfacing begins then on about two and one-half miles of Stage Road (U.S. 64) and is expected to continue through August.
Commuters who have enjoyed using the route to avoid traffic jams at the junction of I-40 and 240 may want to allot extra travel time, although the work between Bartlett Boulevard and Santa Valley will be done in the evenings to avoid peak traffic.
