Vietnam War ceremony set for June 30

The Chief Petty Officer Association (CPOA) of Naval Support Activity (NSA) will commemorate the Vietnam War and its vetss during a ceremony at Overton Park Veterans Plaza at 10 a.m. June 30. The event is part of the war’s 50th anniversary commemoration. The ceremony will include the national anthem, a wreath laying and “Taps.”

Municipalities finalize their July 4 closures

Bartlett, Arlington and Lakeland have announced their July 4 closures:

  • Bartlett City Offices, the Bartlett Recreation Center (including the Splash Pad), the library and the senior center will be closed on Monday, July 4. Trash pick-up will be delayed one day, with Monday’s pick-up on Tuesday and Friday’s pick-up on Saturday.
  • All of Arlington’s town buildings (including the town hall, public works, library and senior center) will be closed on July 4. Trash pickups will be delayed by one day.
  • Lakeland will close its city hall and senior center on July 4, and trash pickups will be delayed by one day.
