Galilee Memorial Gardens owner Jemar Lambert has a new trial date of Sept. 22 in Shelby County Criminal Court, rescheduled from Aug. 25 to avoid conflicts with the Labor Day weekend.

Lambert, who remains in jail without bond, is facing the first charge (theft of property over $60,000) for allegedly burying bodies on nearby property his cemetery did not own.

He faces more charges on allegations of stacking multiple bodies in the same graves, crushing caskets and failing to keep track of where bodies were buried at the Bartlett cemetry.

Blood shortage looms, Red Cross warns
