Early voting sites close Saturday

Early voting for the state primary and the Shelby County general election is lower than expected, although voters still have a few days to go. Early voting ends July 30, and election day will be Aug. 4.

As of Saturday, July 23, only 15,144 votes had been cast. Linda Phillips, the county’s new administrator of elections, was expecting to see about 70,000 early voters.

Voters can still avoid long lines by using the early voting locations listed at shelbyvote.com/DocumentCenter/View/18115. The list includes addresses and hours for each facility.

Voters also can download and use Go Vote TN, a smartphone app that shows all the candidates in the relevant district.
