Holidays closings announced
City officials have announced what buildings will be closed and what services will be impacted by the upcoming New Year’s holiday:
Bartlett
City offices, the Bartlett Public Library and the animal shelter in Bartlett will be closed on Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.
The Bartlett Recreation Center’s hours will be 5 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Jan. 1.
Trash will be picked up on Dec. 31, but will be delayed one day starting on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 with pick-up on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, thru Friday pick-up on Saturday.
Lakeland
City offices and the senior center will be closed on Jan. 1.
Trash pick-ups for Jan. 1 will be postponed until Jan. 2.
Arlington
City offices will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Trash pick-ups for Jan. 1 will be postponed until Jan. 2.
The Sam T. Wilson Public Library will close Dec. 24 at 2 p.m. and remain closed for scheduled maintenance. The re-opening will be Dec. 30.
Free Ride Home program protects against drunk drivers
Bradford Health Services in Germantown is offering a Free Ride Home during the holiday season to make it safer for everyone on the road. Staff and patrons at restaurants, bars and lounges may call for a free ride home for anyone too impaired to drive.
This service is available Dec. 15-30 for adults 21 years or older and is offered within a 25-mile radius. Their office is at 8566 Cordes Circle, Germantown.
