Bartlett ranked third best in state
Bartlett residents who take pride in their hometown just got some validation from Movoto.com. The real estate website known for its quirky city lists has ranked Bartlett as the third best city in Tennessee.
The website’s staff compared cities with a population of more than 5,000 and ranked them on seven factors: cost of living, cost of living, crime rate, high school diploma attainment, unemployment rate, and the median household income, home value, and rent price.
Bartlett had the best cost of living score in the list’s top 10 and also got kudos as a cultural center with the Davies Manor Plantation, Nicholas Gotten House, Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference Center, and Bartlett Recreation Center.

- Brentwood
- Bartlett
- Germantown
- Farragut
- Lakeland
- Nolensville
- Spring Hill
- Oakland
- Collierville

Property tax payment hours expanded
Holiday hours are expanded for people who want to pay their Shelby County property taxes in Bartlett during the final six days of 2013.
The Office of Shelby County Trustee David Lenoir is staffing the Bartlett service center inside City Hall daily, Dec. 26-31. Typically, the location is staffed Wednesdays and Fridays during the October-February period. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Other service centers staffed with a cashier include Arlington Town Hall, Collierville Town Hall, Germantown City Hall, Millington City Hall, Regions Bank in Whitehaven and the Trustee’s main office at 157 Poplar; hours and days vary. Because of the holidays, the Millington City Hall service center will close at noon, Dec. 23, and the Regions Bank in Whitehaven will close at 2 p.m. Dec. 31.
A payment kiosk is at each center (except Regions) and at several branch locations for the Bank of Barlett and the Bank of America.
